'The Mayor' New Episode Spoilers, Plot News: Courtney Deals With a Union Strike, Consequences to Public Transport

When "The Mayor" returns with a brand new episode on Tuesday, the titular character, played by Brandon Michael Hall, will deal with angry protesters and a crippled public transportation system.

Courtney Rose (Hall) will have to deal with the bus drivers' union strike and its consequences on next week's episode, appropriately titled "The Strike." The protest has left Fort Grey's public transportation at a standstill and while the Mayor tries to resolve these issues, he will come head-to-head with a Transit Union lawyer who greatly outmatches him.

Amidst all this trouble, Dina (Yvette Nicole Brown) and her friends are planning to take a sick leave to pamper themselves.

Next week's episode follows last Tuesday's special, titled "City Hall-oween," wherein Courtney gave Fort Grey the same Halloween experience he had growing up.

The episode kicked off with Dina lying on the floor with a visible gunshot wound to her head. With years of experience, Courtney knows better than to flinch at this gruesome sight, as he is well-aware that his mother is just pulling a prank on him.

"Every year she gets you and every year you scream like a little girl," Jermaine (Bernard David Jones) states.

Proud of what she has put her boy and his friends through, Dina said, "Every year on Halloween I would shut this building down so you boys could go running around carefree like a bunch of maniacs."

Dina's usual antics inspired Courtney to give his people the best Halloween so he said, "The kids of Fort Grey deserve to have the same Halloween experience that we had." He declared, "So by the power vested in me as mayor, Imma give it to them."

"The Mayor" season 1 episode 5, titled "The Strike," airs Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
