'The Mayor' Season 1 Spoilers: Courtney Tries to Resolve a Union Strike
The upcoming episode of "The Mayor" season 1 will see Courtney (Brandon Michael Hall) trying to solve a union strike.
The synopsis of the next episode, titled "The Strike," states that a bus driver's union strike will take place at Fort Grey, resulting in a lack of public transportation. Courtney will attempt to resolve the issue, but he will be surprised to learn that he cannot charm his way through this one when he meets the Transit Union lawyer, Amber. Even with Val's (Lea Michele) advice, he is unable to come to a deal with the union.
Elsewhere, Dina (Yvette Nicole Brown) will look forward to calling in sick at work so that she and her two best friends can spend a day pampering themselves. However, their annual tradition will not go as planned this year due to some unexpected events.
Finally, T.K. (Marcel Spears) and Jermaine (Bernard David Jones) will try to help Courtney out by conducting a focus group. However, things immediately become unmanageable.
A teaser trailer for the new episode has also been released. It opens with Courtney riding around in a car with T.K. and Jermaine. He suddenly spots a strike going on and is surprised to see his own mother taking part. His efforts at negotiating a deal with the union are previewed, as he asks two members what they want. He is taken aback by their answers, though, as one of them wants health care and the other wants a pension. It is clear that the issue is weighing down on Courtney. T.K. and Jermaine's rowdy focus group is also briefly glimpsed. The final scene shows Courtney at Val's door, asking her to help him.
"I need someone who has no regard for people's feelings," he tells her.
"You came to the right place," she assures him.
"The Mayor" season 1 airs Tuesdays, at 8:30 p.m. EDT on ABC.
