'The Mindy Project' Season 4 News, Update: Ed Weeks Talks About Jeremy's Love Life and the New Shulman & Associates Colleagues

The premiere for the fourth season of the hit rom-com series "The Mindy Project," which is now in Hulu, is getting closer than ever and fans may still be hankering for more information as to what to expect when the show hit the airwaves.

Main cast member Ed Weeks said during an interview with TV Line that the new season will find Jeremy Reed to be so "unlucky" in everything including "love, and personally, and professionally, and in every way."

Despite the hard times, Weeks said that his alter-ego is still "an optimist, and he's just happy to be in America, where he feels he'll find his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow."

For the 34-year-old, portraying the down-to-luck OB-GYN whose things "aren't going right for him" is apparently "a lot of fun."

The English actor went on to confirm, during the conversation with the media outlet, that Cristin Milioti will be reprising her role as Whitney. The character's return, however, will bring bane to Jeremy's existence.

"Jeremy is possibly going a little overboard in how serious he believes it to be. There's a sense that maybe Whitney is slightly using him. But of course, he's hugely head over heels," the actor teased (via TVLine). "Whitney is such a fascinating alpha creature to Jeremy."

The actor-writer further dishes out some information about the new Shulman & Associate colleagues, Jody (Garret Dillahunt) and Colette (Fortune Felmster).

As revealed by Weeks, his character and the two newcomers "all knew each other as children." During Jeremy's schooling days, he was once a foreign exchange student at one of the universities in Georgia and lived with Jody and Collette's family.

Despite how low he often see himself with them, Jody and Collette still "have a lot of love for Jeremy just from the fact that they were all kids together," a bond that they share even today.

"The Mindy Project" Season 4 premieres September 15 on Hulu.
