'The My Little Pony Movie' Release Date: The Little Ponies Will Be Competing with Some Marvel and DC Heroes
The upcoming animated "The My Little Pony Movie" has finally revealed its release date.
It was previously reported that Lionsgate and Hasbro are currently working on bringing the hit series "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" to the big screen once again. With that, recent news have stated that the movie will soon be competing with other big name films.
As reported by Deadline, "The My Little Pony Movie" will be head-to-head with the upcoming Marvel film "Thor: Ragnarok" and the new DC movie "Justice League." Nevertheless, fans of the franchise will be happy to know when they can finally see their favorite characters on the big screen once more. There was a previously released installment of the "My Little Pony" franchise titled "Friendship Is Magic."
The upcoming movie will be directed by Jayson Thiessen, who was the director and producer of "Friendship Is Magic" and will be joined by the same crew of the recent installment. However, it was reported that Lauren Faust will no longer be returning to the film. The executive producer of the film is Megan McCarthy. Daniel Ingram will also be scoring the film. It was reported that he will be using a live orchestra with the compositions of Steffan Andrews.
The actors are also expected to reprise their roles, including Tara Strong as Twilight Sparkle, Ashleigh Ball as Applejack and Rainbow Dash, Andrea Libman as Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, Tabitha St Germain as Rarity, and Cathy Weseluck as Spike. It was confirmed that a new character will be added to the roster, who is expected to be voiced by Kristen Chenoweth.
Meanwhile, there has yet to be any details regarding the plot of the upcoming film. However, it was speculated that the story will be centered around the ponies' adventures as they try to save Ponyville.
"The My Little Pony Movie" is expected to release in theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
