'The Originals' Producer Says 'Sins of the Past' Will 'Haunt' Them
"The Originals" is a spin-off television series of "The Vampire Diaries" and will premiere its second season on Oct. 6 most likely in its regular time slot at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
A trailer for season 2 was unveiled during the San Diego Comic-Con a month ago and a lot of new developments were revealed during the short three minutes. The trailer showed some footage for the first three episodes of the season.
One such plot line was Klaus asking the question, "Which of our parents do we kill first?" Also in the trailer is Rebekah telling Hope a bedtime story, which also serves as a season 1 recap. There was also Hayleye going on a rampage, Klaus and Mikael having a fight, as well as a newcomer eyeing Davina.
Executive producer Michael Narducci had told audiences during the season 2 trailer about fellow executive producer Julie Plec wanting the upcoming season to have a darker, more fairy-tale like element introduced.
"We talked a lot about the sins of the past coming back to haunt us in the present. Our heroes are dealing with the return of their monstrous parents and what it means to them," Narducci said in the preview.
One of the main characters of the series, Klaus, is going to a "dark place," locking himself away from the others after losing his daughter said Joseph Morgan, who plays Klaus.
"He's like a caged animal waiting to make his move to seek revenge … He's failing to control his emotions," Morgan said.
Also in season 2, the baby hybrid Hope will be exploring what she means to the supernatural world and what curse will be put upon her being the miraculous hybrid child and all.
