After the dramatic season three finale of the hit series "The Originals," fans were left questioning over the future of the Mikaelson siblings and what would happen in season four.
The season 3 finale of "The Originals" saw Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, making the ultimate sacrifice in order to save his family. With that, fans saw the character in pain when Marcel stabbed him with Papa Tunde's blade.
However, there is still uncertainty regarding the safety of the Mikaelsons despite Klaus' sacrifice. He said that the scene proved to be a pivotal moment for Klaus, since he has hurt his siblings in the past.
He explained that Klaus' sacrifice presented the development of the character. According to Entertainment Weekly, he said, "One of the things that's at the core of Klaus' being is his desire to be with his family. Now, going into our hiatus, Klaus is alone, and it's terrible. It's the ultimate sacrifice, and it's something I don't think Klaus Mikaelson may have been capable of prior to the person we've started to show him to be on our series. "
With that, he explained that the upcoming season of the series will continue playing out Klaus' redemption. He said that his siblings will soon act upon the realization that their brother sacrificed himself for them. He said, "I also think that all of those siblings know their brother Klaus made the ultimate sacrifice for them; they've got to get together and go get their brother, and I love that. I love that for once the siblings deciding, we can't let our brother Klaus down. He actually did the right thing, and now we've got to go find out where he is and what's going on with him."
