'The Originals' season 3 news, cast, spoilers: Original family, including Rebekah, will all be facing extreme danger
In the past two seasons, "The Originals" family has been facing numerous foes from their own history, with two of them being their own mother and father. From this, it can be assumed that their family is not just simply dysfunctional but literally destructive. With the third season coming, it seems that Originals members, Elijah, Klauss, and Rebekah, will carry on the dysfunctional traits of their family onto their own sire lines.
The Trinity is in New Orleans and they have a score to settle with their makers. This will involve all three of them, including Rebekah, who will still be portrayed by Claire Holt. Many episodes will feature flashbacks to show what happened in the past, including who sired which line and what changed the relationship between the creators and their sires.
Showrunner Julie Plec shared to Entertainment Weekly where Claire Holt would fit in the the story, especially now that Maisie Richardson-Sellers has been portraying her. Plec said, "We'll actually be seeing quite a lot of Claire in the beginning of the season in flashbacks. We'll see which of the three she sired and how that all went down and then we will come find [Rebekah] in present day, where she realizes she's in as much danger from the other sire lines as her brothers are."
The Trinity will also seemingly cause the rift between Elijah and Klaus to intensify, which is not the best thing especially if the Trinity is bent on taking them down as the brothers are usually at their strongest when they are behind each other. However, according to Plec, Elijah seems to be tired of standing by Klauss. She shares, "With Elijah and Klaus already being a bit frayed in their relationship, there is room for these new people to try to get in between them," Plec said. "And Elijah's point is, 'Maybe they should get between us because every time I've stood by you it has failed spectacularly.'"
Season 3 of The Originals premieres on Oct. 8, Thursday, 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
