With that, Lucian had told the family that he will be able to help them pretend to be the family they killed so that they do not have to keep sleeping in the woods.

After that, it forwarded to present time, which showed that Klaus had turned Lucian into a vampire as well. Lucian was seen escorting the family into a gala and bringing them to the lord. The backstory presented is expected to set the mood for the family issues that will form in the upcoming season.

Along with their family challenges, they will find trouble when it was reported that a serial killer is out and about. The creator and executive producer of the series, Julie Plec, had shared details about the dangers ahead for the upcoming season.

During an interview with Variety, she was asked if they had already decided on who the killer is. She replied, "Yes. We have figured out [who that is] and I think it's pretty safe to say that with the arrival of vicious, crazy people in town the odds of someone taking a knife across someone's cheekbones are pretty strong."

With that, it is just a matter of time before fans find out exactly who is the killer of the season.
