'The Originals' Season 4 News, Spoilers: Cancellation Rumors Continue to Hound Series; Caroline to Appear in New Season to Bring Closure to Relationship with Klaus?

Fans still have months to wait before the "The Originals" Season 4 premiere on The CW. This early though, some details of the new season have been coming out. Spoilers tease of a "Klaroline" (Klaus and Caroline) reunion and a time jump where Klaus ends up in a very weak state of being. Some say that it is even possible that he could die.
5-Year jump
A report says that "The Originals" Season 4 will have a five-year time jump in order to smooth out the transition caused by the cancellation of its mother series, "The Vampire Diaries". When fans see Klaus (Joseph Morgan) in "The Originals" Season 4, he may find himself in danger upon his return to New Orleans and in a weakened state. He will have to be taken cared of by someone.

The return of "Klaroline"
"The Originals" Season 4 spoilers tease that Klaus may be reunited with Caroline (Candice King). But, one of the things that could prevent the reunion from ever happening is if Caroline ends up with Stefan in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. The fans however remain optimistic that, because of the five-year time jump, things will work out between Klaus and Caroline in the end.
Fans of the TV pair have long waited for a reunion to happen ever since Morgan left Mystic Falls in "The Vampire Diaries" and headed to New Orleans for "The Originals". While in the mother series, Klaus and Caroline had an almost love-hate relationship. But, even with this, it cannot be denied that the pair was followed by a lot of TVD fans.
When Klaus left "The Vampire Diaries" and moved to the spinoff series, many fans of the popular tandem were disappointed. In the coming season of the spinoff series, there is a possibility that Caroline might be moving to New Orleans too, now that TVD is on its final season.
Healing and closure
Although Klaus will be busy with another round of battle against Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), the arrival of Caroline in NewOrleans will definitely be a big boost in the spirit and strength of an already weakened Klaus.
In the same way that fans are hoping for the return of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) to TVD to bring a closure to her relationship with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), the same can be said of Caroline and Klaus' relationship in "The Originals" Season 4.

Given that "The Originals" Season 4 got a reduced episode order from The CW, actress Phoebe Tonkin who plays Hayley in the series said the stories appear to be a lot more condensed.
The reduced episode count is one of the main reasons why "The Originals" Season 4 is being plagued by cancellation rumors online. Many fans believe that a reduced episode order is one of the ways networks resort to whenever a show is about to be cancelled.
