'The Originals' Season 5 Premiere News, Spoilers: Jaime Murray Stars; One Episode to Center Solely on Elijah
Jaime Murray will guest star in "The Originals" season 5. Meanwhile, one of the episodes in the new season will center completely around Elijah (Daniel Gillies).
When "The Originals" season 5 premieres, Murray will guest star as someone who crosses paths with Elijah when he loses his memories, TVLine reports. Murray will play the role of Antoinette, a flirty, tantalizing, "old-school" vampire who has dark secrets from her past, which she greatly conceals with her care-free personality.
It has yet to be revealed whether Murray's Antoinette has a connection to the Mikaelson family, but her character will appear in episode 3 of season 5.
Meanwhile, season 5 will have one episode dedicated to Gillies' Elijah, TV Guide reports. One reason for this sole feature is because he has a complicated storyline in the upcoming season.
It also could be the same episode that Murray's Antoinette appears. According to executive producer Julie Plec, this will be the first time that they'll do a whole episode feature on one character.
"Three episodes in, we actually get an episode that is Elijah from start to finish," Plec shared, adding that the storyline will reveal where the Mikaelson sibling has been all these years.
"We get to see where Elijah left off in that episode so long ago, and what he's been doing in the seven years that's passed," Plec explained.
Since the episode will be featured on Elijah, viewers of the show might not see much of the other characters from the show. But one of the reasons why other characters might not appear on the show is because the episode's timeline is set at the time when the Mikaelsons are separated by the Hollow.
While fans of the show wait for the new season, they can watch the season 5 trailer online that was released at the 2017 Comic-Con at the San Diego Convention Center.
"The Originals" returns with season 5 in 2018.
