'The Peanuts Movie' Release Date 2015: Voice Cast and Synopsis Revealed

Watching the classic animated "Charlie Brown" holiday specials has been regarded as a holiday tradition for many people, and now, a brand new movie featuring Charlie, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and the rest of the gang is coming to theaters next year, titled "The Peanuts Movie."

The film will be retaining the look of the old "Charlie Brown" cartoons, but will have newcomers voicing the "Peanuts" cast. Producer Paul Feig introduced the cast on the Today show on Thanksgiving morning, and here's a rundown of the voice cast, along with character descriptions from the 20th Century Fox official press release according to Screenrant.

Noah Schnapp- Charlie Brown, "the lovable loser who never gives up."

Hadley Belle Miller (Sofia the First)- Lucy, best known for being "crabby and bossy and humiliating Charlie Brown."

AJ Tecce (Raising Ethan)- Pig-Pen, a boy "who happily travels in his own private dust storm"

Noah Johnston- Schroeder, "a mini musical genius who is rarely separated from his toy piano or his idol, Beethoven."

Venus Schultheis- Peppermint Patty, "the fearless born leader and a natural athlete who is up to any challenge…except studying."

Alexander Garfin- Linus, the "benevolent, blanket-clutching philosopher who always has a kind word for everybody."

Francesca Capaldi- the Little Red-Haired Girl, who "has captured Charlie Brown's heart, now, if he could only muster the courage to speak to her!"

Mar Mar- Franklin, "Charlie Brown's good friend and confidante."

Mariel Sheets- Sally, "Charlie Brown's little sister."

Rebecca Bloom- Marcie, "Peppermit Pattie's best friend and loyal follower."

William Alexander Wunsch- Shermy, "Charlie Brown's straight-laced and dependable friend."

And here is the official synopsis for "The Peanuts Movie."

"In the film, Snoopy, the world's most lovable beagle—and flying ace—embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest," the summary reads.

"The Peanuts Movie" will be released on Nov. 6, 2015.
