The Power To Take Down Yonkos: Luffy's King Haki [Theory] - Opinion

The Possible Hidden Power That Resides Within Luffy To Become The Next Pirate King

The moment we've all been waiting for is about to get real. The Yonko saga was confirmed to be the ninth saga in One Piece both in anime and manga series. With this, we can assume that the Strawhats will face Kaido and Big Mom pretty soon. Since it is foreshadowed that Luffy will face Kaido in a 1v1 scenario, Oda will surely make a boost on Luffy to the extent that he'll be prepared to face the "Strongest Creature".

In my opinion, Luffy, in his current state, is still far from beating Kaido especially with his personality of keeping a 1v1 match up against his opponents. There is a notion in the New World where it says, "If it's a one-on-one match, Kaido will win". With that being said, I really think that Luffy still needs a power boost in order for him to beat a yonko. Now my theory is formulated thanks to famous theorists in marineford.com as well as famous channels in youtube.

Now let's get down to business. For me, there are two possible ways where Luffy can be powered up and be set on par with a yonko; a devil fruit awakening and/or improving his conquerors haki.

This article will focus more about the latter as there's various complications with devil fruit awakening.

First, let's talk about Luffy's mentor, The Dark King Rayleigh. He has been with Luffy for a year and a half during the time skip to teach Luffy how to master Haki. During this time, Luffy managed to learn everything from Haki but it's yet to be proven that he has indeed mastered its full potential. During the battle in fishman island, he had shown incredible prowess with his Conqueror's Haki by knocking down 50,000 fishmen in an instant. But is this the full extent of the rarest form of Haki? I think not.

If you can remember during Shank's meeting with Whitebeard, his presence had inflicted damage around the ship which can only be explained through the use of Haki. Now, during the first introduction of Rayleigh in Sabaody, he was seen to be able to transport or remove the bomb installed around Caime's neck instantly. This can also be explained only through his usage of Haki. So far in the series, there have been no indications that both Shanks and Rayleigh possess devil fruit powers thus proving the theory that they are instead, a master of Conqueror's Haki.

Rayleigh said that although Conqueror's Haki is an inate ability of a certain individual, it can be harnessed through training. Now Oda has a lot of room where he can expand the capabilities of an individual possessing the Conqueror's Haki as so far in the series, the direct effect of the power renders weak-willed individual to faint.

Surely, Oda will show us the advance usage of such Haki. For me, there will no more time-skip as it'll just complicate the storyline and make the series less interesting. So I guess that during the arc where Luffy will face Kaido, he will somehow improve his Haki either on the way or during their battle.

Note that Luffy has the same inate-ability as Gol D. Roger wherein they can "hear the voice of all things." I think that their similarities goes beyond that ability. I think that Luffy possess a Haki greater than Rayleigh or Shank's. Let's just call it the King's Haki. A haki that can only be attained through an immense willpower and mastery of the Conqueror's Haki.

I know that this is purely speculative but I really think that this is the best possible scenario where Luffy will be able to beat all of the Yonkos and the World Government.

Special thanks to Shooter from marineford.com. His theory is the inspiration of this article.
