'The Punisher' Release Date, News, Spoilers: Frank Castle Comes to Netflix in November

After the dearth of news on "The Punisher," Netflix has finally confirmed a launch date for Jon Bernthal's solo series. The show starts streaming all its episodes on Friday, Nov. 17.

With the news gap for "Punisher" that resulted from the cancellation of its New York Comic Con panel, fans are busy looking elsewhere waiting for news on the show. "Punisher" was supposed to hold a presentation earlier this month, until Marvel and Netflix decided to pull out after the recent Las Vegas shooting.

Marvel has seen their earlier shows "Defenders" and "Iron Fist" underperform on the streaming service, and they are looking to turn things around with Bernthal's rendition of Frank Castle by mid-November.

If the new trailer is anything to go by, Marvel and Netflix have an explosive series on their hands here, as Den of Geek notes. Netflix confirmed the release date on Thursday, Oct. 19, a welcome break for fans who have been eagerly waiting for news on the new series since their no-show at the New York Comic-con.

It won't be his first appearance on the small screen, having guest starred in the second season of "Daredevil" earlier. The solo series for the antihero will follow Castle, now the run from Homeland Security, as well as the crime ring that killed his family.

It won't be long until Castle strikes back, however, as his handler Microchip (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) notes. "You have nothing but a war inside you," he tells Castle, as quoted by Digital Spy. Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) from "Daredevil" crosses over to "Punisher" as a guest character, as well.

Netflix has also released a preview video for Marvel's "The Punisher," announcing a confirmed launch date for the new series. All episodes will be available for streaming on Netflix starting Friday, Nov. 17.
