'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' News: Kim Fields' Confessions about Motherhood
In a preview clip exclusively revealed to People, Kim Fields has opened the doors of her life as a mother and wife to the viewers, and to the shock of her newfound friend, Phaedra Parks, the 46-year-old's life isn't so much fun.
Talking to Parks, Fields, the show's newcomer, revealed that she has very close ties with her family and isn't the kind of mom who finds other things to do besides keeping her home and children intact.
While Parks seems to understand Fields' situation, she did ask her costar how she has managed to "live without a girlfriend," adding that every woman needs one so she can have someone to listen to her secrets and issues.
"For me, I don't have, you know, the hangout girlfriends," Fields says to a surprised Parks. Fields, a former "Facts of Life" star, turns out to be not the typical "Real Housewives" mom who always finds time to hang out with costars and other friends.
Another shocking revelation that fans will see on Sunday's episode is Fields admitting that she doesn't even visit spas to get her nails done or have a massage. "As long as I don't look or smell homeless, I'm good," she is heard telling Parks. The latter looks shocked while listening to Fields' confessions.
Among other parts of the discussion, the most emotional one is when Fields says in between tears, "I've lost myself and I didn't know it..." An empathetic Parks then wipes her new friend's tears and tells her they need to find new hobbies to keep Fields busy aside from raising her children.
Parks is obviously the knowledgeable one in terms of getting time for oneself as a mother. In one part of the preview trailer, she tells Fields that she gets her nails and hair done every week because she realized that she shouldn't lose herself in the crazy ride of motherhood, just like Fields says she did.
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" airs every Sunday, at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
