'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' News: Margaret Josephs Explains Why She Styles Hair in Pigtails

Margaret Josephs recently explained her fascination with wearing her hair in pigtails.

Josephs, 50, is the newest addition to Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" season 8. Fans have yet to see her in action with the other Housewives, but she is already known for her fun hairstyle. The businesswoman caught up with PEOPLE last week and she finally explained why she always wears her hair in pigtails.

"Everybody asked about the pigtails," Josephs said. "I mean listen, it makes a statement. I'm not at the age of kindergarten when normally people start [wearing] their pigtails but you know they got used to it, everybody learns to love the pigtails. It just goes with my personality."

In addition, the FIT graduate said styling her hair in pigtails at work has earned her the name, "powerhouse in pigtails."

Josephs joins Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania and Siggy Flicker for the reality program's upcoming season. Former regulars Danielle Staub and Kim DePaola are also set to return as guest stars.

Meanwhile, Giudice details her life's ups and downs in a new memoir titled "Standing Strong." The book offers fans an inside look at the reality star's life after the launch of her previous memoir "Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again," which was released in 2016.

It also tackles Giudice's journey after leaving prison in 2015, as well as her experience as a solo parent to four daughters while her husband Joe serves a 41-month prison sentence. The memoir officially hits the shelves on Oct. 3.

"I'm about to get very real," reads an excerpt from the book (via Us Weekly). "More than I ever have before. No holding back. No glossing over. No smiling through the pain. I'm digging deep, opening up, and putting it all out there. I'm spilling my true feelings about what's gone down in the last couple of years."

Giudice added, "It's my time to speak up."

"The Real Housewives of New Jersey" season 8 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
