'The Real Housewives of New York' Season 7: Episode 5 Recap, 'Mind Your Own Business'
This week on "The Real Housewives of New York," Bethenny Frankel gives Sonja Morgan advice about how to run her business, and Carole Radziwill struggles to come clean to LuAnn de Lesseps about her relationship with LuAnn's chef.
Over lunch, Bethenny asks Sonja why the other ladies have been questioning her business aspirations. Sonja said that she's launching an "international, lifestyle brand … jewelry, perfume." Bethenny tells her that she's working on too much too soon and that she should focus and "do one thing great."
Bethenny arrives at Sonja's headquarters, and though she liked the logos, sketches and the samples, Bethenny was aghast at what Sonja's team has been telling her about the business.
"They revealed they didn't have orders yet," exclaimed Bethenny when she learned that Sonja and her team was planning to launch their first collection in spring/summer 2015. Though Bethenny admits that fashion is not her forte, she says that she knows enough to know that it's impossible to launch a clothing line in just a couple of months. She then began to rehash some of Sonja's failed business ventures, which include a "sexy novel" and some kind of toaster, saying, "You also got involved with a toaster—that never went anywhere, you never toasted anything."
Meanwhile over drinks, Carole gives Kristen Taekman an update about her budding romance with LuAnn's chef, Adam.
"We're practically living together!" she crows, before admitting that she might be exaggerating just a little bit, but they do see each other a lot. Kristen warns Carole that if she doesn't tell LuAnn about her relationship with Adam, things could get very messy, as not only is Adam her chef, but he was also Luann's niece's ex-boyfriend. Carole breezily replies, "Of course I'll tell LuAnn, I just haven't had the opportunity up until this point."
Later, the ladies head over to Dorinda Medley's cocktail party. Sonja brought her boyfriend Dominic and she greeted everyone, except Ramona Singer. When Heather Thomson arrived, she asked Sonja why she wasn't invited to the business meeting, yet Bethenny was.
"Bethenny said that she was going to your presentation and she was confused about why you had her going and not me, since I am the fashion girl," Heather whines. The two women argued about whether or not Sonja gave Heather the address to her showroom and Sonja exclaims, "You're not supportive at all! You're making it all about you!"
Finally, Carole finally got the chance to tell LuAnn the truth—because the Countess made her do so.
"My niece has been texting me," said LuAnn. Carole insisted that she has been planning to tell LuAnn all along, but she doesn't feel guilty about dating Adam.
"Her niece is upset, I don't care," Carole said. "I didn't do anything wrong. He didn't do anything wrong."
"The Real Housewives of New York" airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
