'The Royals' Season 2 will have an illegitimacy issue, more indiscretions and intrigue
The scandalous Royals will be back to regale viewers with more outrageous deeds and wickedness. The trailer of Season 2 of "The Royals" is out and it has left fans begging for more. Eleanor and Liam are unsure whether they are the legitimate royals or not but are back home. Liam is plotting revenge. Joan Collins will be back. Not to forget, there is a dead body too.
The series is the first fictional scripted series created by E! and depicts the lives of a fictional British royal family set in the modern day. But this Royalty is something else – indiscretions, wickedness, intrigue, murder are all present in this Royal family.
Three main plot points will drive Season 2. First, who murdered King Simon? He was attacked after he threatened to abolish the monarchy and Cyrus becomes the king. Cyrus is the prime suspect because he has always lusted after the throne.
The appearance of the domino logo is another mystery. Before King Simon died, an envelope containing the logo was given to the queen. It again popped up on the palace gates and on a pendant that Prince Liam found. Season 2 will delve into the mystery of the "Domino Logo."
Poor Prince Liam and Princess Eleanor. The Queen herself says they are illegitimate. But are they really? Eleanor is more interested in finding out what happened to Prince Robert while Liam wants revenge. At the end of Season 1, only Cyrus was a happy man as he gets to sit on the throne that he always wanted.
So basically, Season 2 will get into a bit of intrigue mode and try to find who killed King Simon. Then what does the domino logo represent? And why has the Queen declared that Liam and Eleanor are illegitimate? Is it because she wants Cyrus on the throne?
Show creator, Mark Schwahn said all these questions will be answered in Season 2, "Mystery, drama, scandal, sex, mayhem, murder and ridiculously pretty people. And also me. The Royals. Fully committed."
About the cast, Mark says, "In season two, they're not freshman anymore. They're sophomores. They know the school. So everybody shows up and everybody's got a little more swagger to them."
Elizabeth Hurley says, "This season feels a little different to season one. I really feel that our story is really kicking off now."
