'The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water' News: Film Gets 2015 Release Date, Gets New Trailer
The latest trailer for Nickelodeon's "The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" has been released, and from the looks of the preview, it seems like Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Crabs and Sandy will be having a brand new adventure -- this time on the beaches of Salty Shoals.
The first trailer was shown at San Diego Comic Con by Tom Kenny, who voices Spongebob. At the Spongebob panel, it was revealed that the film will have live action sequences, just like the first Spongebob movie which was released in 2004.
The new trailer starts out with Spongebob laughing while the customers of the Krusty Krab are seen ordering and dining happily. Then, Mr. Krabs and Spongebob are in shock when they discover that the formula for making the Krabby Patty is missing. Chaos and anarchy ensues in Bikini Bottom when the residents find out that there will be no more Krabby Patties, so Spongebob and his friends follow the smell of the patties, which lead them to the surface of the ocean.
The characters find themselves in Sandy Shoals and in the company of beachgoers. They find a pirate named Burger Beard (Antonio Banderas) and discover that he has started his own burger business using the Krabby Patty formula. Spongebob and his friends transform into superheroes, and they battle Burger Beard for the formula.
In addition to Banderas, "The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" stars Tom Kenny as the voice of Spongebob, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Rodger Bumpass as Squidward, Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs, Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy and Mr. Lawrence as Plankton. The film opens in theaters on Feb. 6, 2015.
