'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 News, Cast, Spoilers: Is Season 7 the Last?
When Nina Dobrev announced her departure from "The Vampire Diaries," many were left wondering how the show would go on without its main star. The whole story started off with Dobrev, and how the show will fill the gap definitely became a big concern. However, now, seven episodes in and the show has proven to be better than ever. One of the tactics the show used to make things interesting is by throwing in flash-forwards. This definitely caught the attention of viewers that Elena's absence is not at all felt.
In a report by Hypable, however, it is highly speculated that with the characters' futures being shown in each episode, many can't help but wonder if this is a sign that the show could be coming to a close. Although show creator Julie Plec has announced numerous times before that season 7 wouldn't be the last, the atmosphere of the season certainly says otherwise. One of the speculated things that can happen at the end is that some big event will occur and alter the future that has already been shown.
Right now, most fans are quite concerned with Caroline and Stefan's new relationship. In one of the episodes, it showed that the two did not end up together in the future, and the main suspect immediately became Valerie, who revealed that she was pregnant with Stefan's child years ago. However, according to executive producer Caroline Dries, it's not mainly just going to be about that. She shares during an interview with TV Line, "Valerie is part of the reason, but it's a much bigger, more emotional, legit reason. It's beyond petty jealousy or Stefan cheating on Caroline or anything like that." Furthermore, she shares what the theme of the current season is and perhaps somehow explains the importance of all the flash-forwards, "This season is about our characters growing up and becoming adults."
Season 7 of "The Vampire Diaries" airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
