'The Vampire Diaries' season 7 plot and cast news; Stefan and Caroline's relationship will surprise fans
Details of the upcoming season of "The Vampire Diaries" were revealed during the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
TVLine reported that executive producer Julie Plec addressed rumors concerning the premiere of the seventh season. Recent spoilers stated that the first episode will be titled "22,190 Days." Plec explained that it is not the entire titled. Season 7 will premiere with an episode titled "Day 20 of 22,190, Give or Take." The title focuses on Damon counting down the days to his reunion with Katherine. He is expected to have a hard time coping with the wait that he will turn to drinking as an outlet. However, he will not be alone as Bonnie will be at his side, in order to help him get through the ordeal. The season will delve deeper into the friendship between the two. The executive producer also mentioned details concerning the character of Kat Graham. The execitive producer also revealed that the actress has suggested a plot that has Bonnie as a bisexual. Plec explained that even though the team is supportive of the plans, they will not feature it in the upcoming season.
However, it is something they hope to explore for the future. Nevertheless, Bonnie will be receiving a love interest for the episodes to come. Another character expected to receive a new romantic interest is Matt. However, details about the character have yet to be confirmed. Plec did share that Matt will face challenges regarding his new love, as well as his relationships with the other character. A main feature of the season is the relationship of Stefan and Caroline, which will surprise fans after several episodes. With Nina Dobrev's character gone, fans were wondering if she will come back in flashbacks. Plec responded to the questions by confirming that Dobrev will not return at all.
The Vampire Diaries season 7 will premiere on Oct. 8.
