'The Vampire Diaries' season 7 release date, plot spoilers: Show will follow new timeline, Caroline & Stefan relationship grows, Damon has new love?
It's been a while since the last episode of "The Vampire Diaries" but fans can be assured that the long wait is going to be worth it. The return of the supernatural drama television series has a lot in store for those who have loyally followed the show through the ups and downs of six seasons.
Season 7 of TVD is going to be a lot different especially with the exit of Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert. According to International Business Times, the show is going to try a time shuffle that will see the characters in the future. The first few episodes will contain a lot of explaining with what Elena's friends have been doing since the events of season 6 finale. Julie Plec, executive producer, told Entertainment Weekly that they are picking up all over the place.
"We're picking up a little bit in the future, we're picking up a lot in the future, we're doing a little bit of a time shuffle as we launch into the season. One timeline is set very much in the future and the other timeline will catch us up to the events of the final scene of last season," said Plec.
Pop Sugar dishes on the status of Damon (Ian Somerhalder) who is found out to be not doing well with the loss of Elena. It will take some time for him to recover and will cope by binge-drinking. He will also be bonding with Bonnie (Kat Graham) as they grieve together.
Fans will also be seeing the continuation of the love story of Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) as Plec said that their relationship is continuing to blossom and grow. And speaking of love, will Damon find a new love interest during season 7?
According to Inquisitr, Damon will not have find another woman yet but he will still have love. The season will center on the Salvatore brothers' relationship since the two have always had an issue that makes it hard for them to be brothers.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 premieres Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. EDT on the CW.
