'The View' Cast News, Update: Season 19 Adds Joy Behar, Candace Cameron Bure and Paula Faris
In the latest casting updates of ABC's hit reality TV talk show, "The View," Joy Behar, Candace Cameron Bure and Paula Faris will be joining Whoopi Goldberg, Raven-Symone and Michelle Collins as co-hosts in the upcoming Season 19 of the show.
It is indicated in the report from Variety.com that Behar's return to the hosting team comes from the request of the show's creator and executive producer, Barbara Walters.
According to the publication, Walters is said "to have been dismayed by the non-stop drama that has enveloped the show this season." In fact, ABC included Walters' seal of approval quote when they announced the new casting lineup.
Behar, on the other hand, was one of the show's original co-hosts. By 2013, she left to pursue other opportunities.
"…I'm happy to be back home. And I'm looking forward to sticking my two cents into the hot topics, especially now that Hillary and the Donald are in the spotlight," the 72-year-old TV personality said in an interview with ABC.
As for Bure, the 39-year-old has appeared several times on the show as a guest. The author and mother of three is currently involved in the "Full House" spin-off project.
"I am thrilled to be joining 'The View' as a regular co-host this fall," the actress was quoted as saying (via ABC). "I am honored to be a new addition to such a strong group of bright and opinionated women, and I look forward to sharing this exciting journey with viewers new and old."
Faris is a familiar sight. She's been part of the "Good Morning America" weekend edition team and is also a news correspondent for the network.
"I'm humbled and excited to have not one, but two dream jobs -- 'Good Morning America' and 'The View'," the TV host said (via ABC). "I can't wait to connect with the audience in a new way as I take a seat alongside this exceptional group of women."
"The View" Season 19 premieres September 8 on ABC. Stay tuned for more updates.
