'The Voice' Season 8 Coaches News: Christina Aguilera to Return as Coach on 'The Voice'
Original coach Christina Aguilera is coming back to "The Voice" for season 8. The show's Twitter handle confirmed this on a post on Oct. 14.
"OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Say HELLO to your Season 8 coaches! @adamlevine @Pharrell @xtina @blakeshelton #TheVoice," wrote "The Voice" on Twitter.
Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will be back to sit on the red swivel chairs, and new coach Pharrell will be staying on, which makes this the first time that Aguilera will be competing with the "Happy" singer as they coach "The Voice" hopefuls.
Aguilera took off for three seasons during which Shakira and Gwen Stefani filled in for her. Shakira held down the throne in her absence in seasons 4 and 6, while Stefani made her debut this season.
Before Stefani joined the cast back in April, Aguilera accidentally revealed that she has been cast on the show when she wrote on Twitter, "So excited to have you join #TheVoice squad @GwenStefani! Welcome to our crazy family! Kisses- xoxo #blondesdoitbest."
The "Reflection" singer got engaged to Matt Rutler earlier this year, and she gave birth to their daughter, Summer Rain Rutler, on Aug. 16, 2014. She also has a son, Max, 6, with her ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
Stefani will not be back next season as Hollywood Life reports that the platinum blonde beauty will be taking some time off to spend time on her new music. She is currently wrapping up her first solo album in eight years which will feature tracks by Pharrell. It is reported that she is set to perform her first single off the album on "The Voice" this season.
