'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Premiere Date, Spoilers: First Episode Set for October 2014 Release, Titled 'No Sanctuary'
AMC's popular post-apocalyptic zombie horror drama series, "The Walking Dead," is set to premiere its fifth season on Oct. 12. Season five will be comprised of 16 episodes and will be run by season four executive producer, Scott Gimple.
The 16 episodes will also presumably be split into two, with the first eight episodes airing in fall 2014 with the other half to be aired sometime mid-2015. Also, the first episode's title will be "No Sanctuary," probably referring to the situation Rick and his people have gotten themselves into at the end of the fourth season.
It is still unclear how Rick will be able to get his group out of Terminus and away from the clutches of the Terminus leader Garreth and his cronies. Also, it is unknown whether or not the group are cannibals or are doing experiment on survivors.

AMC released a teaser video for season 5 of the television series during the San Diego Comic Con. "The Walking Dead" cast and crew described the video as "brutal," "messy," "explosive" and "thrilling," which is apparent as the video truly is such.
Plot details are still scarce but production is still in full swing. As for the characters, Rick will surely be able to think of a way out of Terminus but it will get bloody.
"The Walking Dead" television series is based on a comic book series of the same name created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard.
The series revolves around a deputy sheriff named Rick Grimes as he wakes up from a coma to find the world plunged into a zombie apocalypse. He then goes out to look for his family and encounters other survivors along the way.
