'The Walking Dead' Season 6 News, Update: New Season To See A Rift Between Daryl and Rick?
Judging by the hints thrown over at the latest trailer for the sixth season of AMC's hit post-apocalyptic drama TV series "The Walking Dead," it appears that there might be some sort disagreement between Rick and Daryl when it comes to running Alexandria.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Norman Reedus, who plays the timid yet highly-volatile Daryl, said that "a lot internal conflict" will happen when the show returns to the small screen. In fact, there will be "a lot of mistrust, and a lot of conflict inside the walls of Alexandria on how that place is supposed to be run."
And somehow, this issue will manifest between his character and that of Andrew Lincoln's. He explained to the publication that Daryl is particularly troubled with Rick "starting to shut the walls down" because he thinks that maybe it's time for them to stop helping other people. It certainly would go against Daryl's prerogative which is to give other people the chance to find a safe place to survive in these trying times.
But should the viewers see Daryl walking out from Alexandria, Reedus says it might not happen. According to him, Daryl is "definitely a key component in the decision-making process" of the pack. Although he is seen more to be of a physical guy, Rick respects his opinion, a fact that has been manifested in the past seasons.
"There have been moments where Daryl's changed Rick's mind and Rick's changed Daryl's mind. They're definitely on the same side. Even when they disagree, they're on the same side," Reedus told EW.
For the meantime, series creator Robert Kirkman appeared at the recent New York Comic-Con to dish out details about the show. According to him (via Variety.com), Season 6 "is going to be the most intense season…yet" with the first few episodes already hitting "the ground running."
Fans should also be wary of the "pretty big cliffhangers" happening at the end of each episode.
Catch the premiere of "The Walking Dead" Season 6 this Sunday, Oct. 11, on AMC.
