'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Finale: Rick and the Alexandrians Battle Negan and the Saviors
The upcoming season 7 finale of "The Walking Dead" will see everything coming to a head as Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his group prepare to fight Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors.
The synopsis of the next episode, titled "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life," states that the stakes will get higher as the survivors encounter one another. Ready to take revenge on Negan and his band of Saviors, Rick hatches a plan with his allies. The question is, will it work?
Everything so far has been leading up to the ultimate fight in the season 7 finale. Negan has caused Rick and the Alexandrians so much pain over the course of the entire season, and they have definitely had enough of it. The first photos from the upcoming finale sees Rick with his game face on as he stands on a high platform. Another image features a smiling Negan--which is never a good sign--as he holds his bat and stands in front of Eugene (Josh McDermitt).
So much has already been teased about the season 7 ender. Showrunner Scott M. Gimple previously revealed that the episode will have both good and bad moments, with the latter being attributed to the one or more deaths taking place. And while the finale will be heartbreaking, there will also be "moments of beauty."
But it looks like it will be more than just "moments," as Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, teased to Entertainment Weekly that the finale will be very satisfying. The actor even compared it to Mel Gibson's "Braveheart."
"It's nice to finally let a window open up in this room and let some of this air out of here, and it's nice to get some freedom and some dirt underneath your feet and start running towards killing this guy," he said about the finale. "It's completely different than all the other ones."
"The Walking Dead" season 7 finale will air on Sunday, April 2, at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
