'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Finale to Have 'Moments of Beauty' and Death
"The Walking Dead" season 7 is almost coming to a close and, understandably, fans are worried about what the finale will bring.
The show does not have a very good track record when it comes to season finales. The season 6 ending alone was enough to send fans into a swirling frenzy as they spent months trying to figure out who ended up being killed by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). His tyrannical rule has certainly taken a toll on the Alexandrian survivors as he reigned for most of the seventh season. However, the season 7 finale will be a little different.
"[Season 6's finale] was the noose tightening and things getting darker and darker," showrunner Scott M. Gimple told TVLine. "This season's finale has darkness and light, real horrific moments, betrayal, and real moments of beauty, redemption, love and friendship. It's sort of the panoply of human and Walking Dead experience."
This is not the first time Gimple has teased the season 7 finale. He previously described it as "big and satisfying," with many story arcs being tied together. He also promised that the finale will not leave fans hanging like the previous season.
However, Gimple also revealed that the finale will not come without deaths. After all, it is "The Walking Dead." There will be one or more characters being killed off in the season 7 finale, but that does not mean that only the Alexandrians and Saviors will be involved. With the introduction of several new characters and survivor groups, fans are looking at deaths from all over.
There are only three episodes left before the finale, which means a lot of things can still happen--including a stand-off between the Kingdommers and the Saviors, as teased by the promo for the next episode, titled "Bury Me Here." The episode will also see Carol (Melissa McBride) taking out several walkers on her own as she looks for Morgan (Lennie James).
"The Walking Dead" season 7 airs Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
