'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Spoilers, Plot News: All Episode Summaries Revealed
"The Walking Dead," AMC's horror drama series is set for its season 7B return this Feb. 12. AMC has released an extended trailer for the second half of the season, and also the list of episode titles and summaries along with it.
The first episode to air is number 9 titled "Rock in the Road." All that the summary simply reveals is that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) "is introduced to a new community." What can be seen in the first trailer for season 7B, however, is the introduction of Ezekiel (Khary Payton). Rick asks Ezekiel to "join us, in fighting," a statement that engages the viewers to look forward to more action. Metro.co.uk notes the renewed emphasis on exploration, and a plot that could change the balance of power in the survivor communities.
These teasers could promise a new tempo for the horror series that have lost a big portion of its viewers in the first half of season 7. The series have started with a very violent first episode, but after that, NME laments on the unappealing state that the trauma has left the characters, especially Rick and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus).

After the series of events that led to the deaths of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz), the show has settled into a slower pace, possibly to focus on their themes of mourning and passivity. While this may be the producers' way of staying close to the original story, a sizable portion of its viewer base has drifted off in the meantime. As the fifth season "Go-getters" aired, viewer numbers have already dropped to 11 million in the U.S. — a decrease of 6 million compared to the start of the season.
Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, told the Wrap that the show is now ready to shift into higher gear. "I think the back eight are the exact opposite of the front eight," as he talks about the upcoming episodes. If the first episodes of season 7 are any indication, then viewers may be in for an action-filled, faster paced second half.
