'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Updates: Identity of Negan's Victim to Be Revealed Immediately; Find Out How the Show Prevented Victim Being Leaked
"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will pick off right where the last season ended.
"The Walking Dead" Season 6 ended with a dramatic cliffhanger that had its many fans outraged. Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) took a murderous swing with his barb-wired bat to a still unknown character. Fans were left hanging and biting their nails if their favorite character was the one in the receiving end of "Lucille".
It won't be long now
Now, it can be told that it won't take long in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 for the fans to find out who Negan's victim is. According to Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd, the upcoming season will take off immediately after the last season finale.
Hurd added that Negan will be the game changer for "The Walking Dead" Season 7 and whoever is his victim is will cause unhappiness to some fans regardless. She promised not to draw out the suspense.
Fans have come to love all the characters of the series and knowing that even one of them dies will surely cause them heartbreak. Knowing the big reveal immediately will bring them small comfort in losing a beloved character.
It could be Abraham Ford
Not a few fans speculate that Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) will be the one who met his death last season. This is because in the graphic novels by Robert Kirkman from which "The Walking Dead" TV series was based on, he met his untimely death when a crossbow arrow was shot to his eye. But, the TV series veered away from that and instead, it was Dr. Denise Cloyd (Merritt Wever) who died that way.
In an interview, Cudlitz said that he was excited about the writers' decision about his death. He said he was happy to still be able to explore the world with both Negan and his character in it.
Doing everything to prevent leak
It appears that the showrunners of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 are pulling all stops to prevent Negan's victim's identity from being revealed ahead of the season premiere. According to a report, all 11 actors involved in the much talked about scene had each a death scene filmed.
Later, the producers and the episode director will work with the editors and decide which of them will be killed off. This decision will certainly throw off spoilers.
The attempt to secrecy, however, did not prevent fans from trying. Another report said that some fans in Atlanta, the filming location, have resorted to using drones just to get a peak while filming was going on.
Frustrated over the outrage
Meanwhile, series creator Robert Kirkman has expressed frustration over the fact that the outrage of "The Walking Dead" Season 6 finale took all the viewers' focus. He is frustrated that Jeffrey Dean Morgan was not being talked about enough. He also said that in "The Walking Dead" Season 7, Morgan's character Negan will change everything.
"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will have its premiere on October 23 on AMC.
