'The Walking Dead' Season 8 Spoilers: New Portraits and Images Show the Teams Ready for All-Out War

As fans push their way to survive the final leg of the waiting game for "The Walking Dead" season 8, a bunch of promotional stills and portraits teasing the all-out war have been released to help them by.

AMC released tons through Entertainment Weekly and IGN. As shown in two of the images, despite the focus on the warfare between Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group and Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) crew, there will still be walkers to worry about and they just become more and more grotesque every season.

There are also "The Walking Dead" season 8 images showing the characters with their game face on including Rick and Michonne (Danai Gurira) back to back and Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) as they wield their respective choice of weapon in battle-ready stance.

Ever since the death of Glenn (Steven Yeun), Maggie (Lauren Cohan) never showed sign of weakness and just became more fearless than ever as shown in her portrait.

In "The Walking Dead" season 8, Maggie steps up to lead Hilltop with Gregory (Xander Berkeley) unwilling to cooperate. She stands alongside Rick and Ezekiel (Khary Payton) in one image as they address their one big team in prepping to take on Negan's army.

Speaking of Gregory, there is also a portrait of him for the new season as well as Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh), the leader of the Scavengers who turned on the Alexandrians in the previous season after making them think they were there to help them. Both characters are expected to play important roles in the showdown next season.

Eugene (Josh McDermitt) stands at the side of Negan and Dwight (Austin Amelio) in one "The Walking Dead" season 8 image, but both are expected to come to Rick's group's aid when the conflict begins.

Showrunner Scott Gimple recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about how long the all-out war could go, revealing that it will "absolutely" be resolved by the end of the season, which means that Negan's reign could soon come to an end.

He also spoke about Heath (Corey Hawkins), who got separated with Tara (Alanna Masterson) during a supply run. The character's whereabouts are unclear at the moment, but what fans can count on is that he is not dead, at least not yet.

However, Gimple noted that there is "not a huge chance" of Heath showing up in "The Walking Dead" season 8:

But we definitely have not seen the last of Heath, period. I will say that. I don't mean to disappoint the Heathies. He will be on the show. He will be within "The Walking Dead" again.

"The Walking Dead" season 8 premieres Sunday, Oct. 22, on AMC.
