'The X-Files' Premiere Airing News, Update: Fox Series Gets A Domestic and International Premiere Event
The hype is really strong towards the return of Fox's cult-classic science-fiction drama series "The X-Files" into the small screens. To quell the anticipation, it has been announced by the network on Thursday that the revival series will be getting a domestic and international premiere event three months prior to its TV timeslot comeback schedule.
Citing the report from DigitalSpy, it is said that the special screening of the show's first episode titled "My Struggle" will take place during the New York Comic Con at the Javits Centre Main Stage this coming October 10.
The "X-Files" premiere airing would be part of Fox's NYCC special presentation for the brand new episodes of "Sleepy Hollow" (for the show's third season), "Minority Report," "Lookinglass," and "Bordertown."
Following the advanced screening, the cabler will host a Q&A session that will be participated by star David Duchovny (who plays Fox Mulder in the show) and creator Chris Carter. The panel will be moderated by "Silicon Valley" star Kumail Nanjiani. The latter is slated to appear as guest star in the revival series.
He will be joined later in the show by other newcomers like Joel McHale, Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby, Robbie Amell, and Lauren Ambrose.
On the international side of things, the report, this time coming from The Hollywood Reporter, indicated the world premiere of "My Struggle."
According to THR, the new installment of the alien-hunting and truth-seeking series will also be featured in Cannes on October 6 at this year's MIPCOM event.
The grand occasion will also be attended by the exec producer and writer at the Grand Auditorium of the Palais.
"We are delighted that Fox has chosen MIPCOM for the world premiere of the return of The X-Files, which is one of several high-profile series being showcased exclusively at MIPCOM 2015," Laurine Garaude, director of TV at Reed MIDEM, said in a statement (via THR).
