'The Young and the Restless': A Hostage Situation Develops Amid Romance
This week, CBS' "The Young and the Restless" deals with a tension-filled kidnap-for-ransom situation, lightened by an unusual romance blooming on the sidelines.
Scott Grainger Jr. (Daniel Hall) has been abducted, and his kidnappers have gotten in touch to try and collect a huge ransom for their captive. The situation has driven Scotty's mother, Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman), up the wall trying to come up with anything — anything at all — to make sure that her son does not come to harm.
Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) wants to try taking another approach to the hostage situation, by bringing in law enforcement to handle the crisis. Lauren is skeptical of the plan — the way she sees it, bringing in the police would endanger her son for sure.
Lauren will be scrounging whatever money she can in the hopes that she will gather enough to meet the demands of Scotty's captors. Will she be able to come up with the amount needed to secure her son's safe release? Find out this Monday when the episode airs.
Elsewhere, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will be having a confrontation with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Gloria Abbott Bardwell (Judith Chapman) is right in the middle of it as Michael talks to Jack about his treatment of Flo. While Michael could let him off with a warning this time, he just wants to make sure Jack knows that playing around with Gloria will have some serious consequences.
Jack makes light of Michael's threats, and his carelessness leads to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) getting wind of his indiscretions. How soon before the whole town knows?
As all these happen, Ravi (Abhi Sinha) has been working on their computer program with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). Over time, it is starting to look like they are working on something more. Will this lead to something else for Ravi and Phyllis? Monday on CBS will reveal the answers to all these and more.
"The Young and the Restless" airs weekdays 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time on CBS.
