'This is Us' Beats 'Game of Thrones' Ratings in On-Demand Viewership
Millions of viewers no doubt follow "Game of Thrones" and watch the series in various platforms. The family drama "This Is Us," however, recently broke the HBO show's dominance in the ratings when it came to On-Demand viewership.
According to a report from Xfinity, "This is Us" became the most viewed show in its On-Demand service as of October. It surpassed "Game of Thrones" in the ranking when the show was constantly number one on On-Demand since May.
The rising number of viewers for "This is Us" can be attributed to the fact that the show just returned for season 2 this fall and some viewers might be catching up on season 1 and its recent episodes. On-Demand viewing means viewers can watch any program episode from any device during their own convenient time.

"Game of Thrones," on the other hand, has been on hiatus since August. Viewers are now shifting to the Fall TV season calendar.
Meanwhile, the premiere episode of "This Is Us" season 2, which aired last Sept. 25 on NBC, set a new record high in the ratings. The family drama now average 11 million viewers a week after three episodes. Last season, the show averaged 9.8 million viewers weekly.
"This Is Us" season 2 episode 4, which airs on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 9:00 p.m. EST, will welcome Elizabeth Perkins back as Rebecca's (Mandy Moore) mother. The episode will also have Kate (Chrissy Metz) booking her first big gig and Kevin (Justin Hartley) struggling with a setback at work.
A preview of the upcoming episode shows Kevin going under the knife for an old knee injury. Randall (Sterling K. Brown), on the other hand, will be confronted by a problem involving their teenage foster child.
Meanwhile, "Game of Thrones" started production for season 8 in Belfast. The show is not expected to return to air until late 2018 or early 2019 on HBO.
