'Thor 3: Ragnarok' Spoilers: New Female Villain and Hero
Even though it is more than a year away, "Thor 3: Ragnarok" is already expected to bring a milestone for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It was recently reported that a female villain will be joining the roster for the upcoming "Thor 3: Ragnarok." The previous installments of the "Thor" franchise have featured male villains such as Loki and Malekith. While it also has several superheroines, such as Jane Foster, Darcy, Sif, and Frigga, there has yet to be another female villain in the "Thor" installments. In addition, this will also serve as the first female main villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While other Marvel movies have featured female villains such as "Guardians of the Galaxy's" Nebula, who was played by Karen Gillan, and "Avengers: Age of Ultron's" Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, they were not the main villains of the films.
However, there is still no announcement regarding who the villain could be in the upcoming film. There have been speculations on who the characters could be, which include Amora the Enchantress, The Queen of the Norns Karnilla, and Warrior Queen Knorda and Norse goddess of death, Hela.
Meanwhile, another female character is expected to join Chris Hemsworth's Thor in the upcoming film. It was reported that Valkyrie will be present in "Thor 3: Ragnarok." The comic book writer Stan Lee shared some details about the character on his blog.
He said, "The Valkyrie has been around since the 70s and is a key character in Thor mythos. The Asgardian was selected by Odin to be the leader of the Valkyrior, a group of warrior goddesses who were originally responsible for delivering dying warriors to Valhalla. In the comics Valkyrie, a.k.a. Brunnhilde, is one of Thor's allies on Asgard, but her exact role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has not yet been revealed."
"Thor 3: Ragnarok" is expected to release in theaters by Nov. 3, 2017.
