'Thor: Ragnarok,' 'Justice League' Get New Hashtag Emojis

Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok" and DC's "Justice League" will both hit theaters next month, and the hype game between the two studios is already on. After Marvel and DC released new teasers for their respective films in recent weeks, the rival companies have finally revealed a selection of new hashtag emojis to promote their upcoming releases.

The new hashtag emojis were revealed by the SuperBroMovies Twitter account on Oct. 2. The most interesting thing about the "Thor: Ragnarok" emojis is that unlike in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" where the villain Nebula (Karen Gillan) did not receive her own special hashtag, Hela (Cate Blanchett) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) have their own special hashtags in "Thor: Ragnarok." In the upcoming film, Hela and Valkyrie are the new villains who try to steal Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) power from him.

Meanwhile, the emojis for "Justice League" reinforce the fact that the Man of Steel will indeed join the league as they band together to fight Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) in the upcoming film. Since Superman (Henry Cavill) is absent in most of the promotional materials for the film, some have speculated that he won't appear in "Justice League."

Despite those speculations, DC previously confirmed that the superhero would join the rest of the League in their fight against the new villain, although his role would not be as significant as the others.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will follow Thor as he puts up his own team to fight the ruthless Hela, who will try to seize the throne from him to rule Asgard and destroy the humanity. On the other hand, "Justice League" will find the most powerful superheroes in the DC universe, as they join forces to stand up against Steppenwolf and the Parademons.

Recently the two films got caught up in a controversy when "Justice League" was accused of borrowing ideas from the promotional poster for "Thor: Ragnarok."

"Thor: Ragnarok" will hit theaters on Nov. 3, while "Justice League" will open in theaters on Nov. 17.
