'Thor: Ragnarok' Release Date, News: Thor Loses His Long Blonde Locks and Hammer in Latest Photo
When one thinks about Chris Hemsworth's character as Thor, the first few things that come to mind are his incredibly muscular physique, his lengthy, flowing blonde hair and his trusty Mjolnir. Apparently, that is not going to be the case in the third installment, "Thor: Ragnarok."
In an exclusive photo from Entertainment Weekly, Thor is seen sporting a short hair, and in place of his mighty hammer he wields dual swords. Luckily, at least for the ladies, his rock-hard biceps are still there, so he can more or less be expected to dish some serious pain in the upcoming movie.
Alongside Thor is the new villain Hela, played by no other than Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett, who is wearing a body-hugging yet regal outfit and is almost unrecognizable with the black hair. They are also joined by Tessa Thompson, who plays the role of Valkyrie.
While everyone is probably shocked with the drastic transformation that Thor has gone through, it looks like Hemsworth is happy with it. "It was nice not to have to sit in the makeup chair for that hour each morning. It felt like a rebirth for me as the actor but also as the character," he explains.
Meanwhile, it is revealed that Thor will not only face off against Hela, but will also have to duke it out with no less than the gigantic green rage monster, the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). When Hela escapes from her prison, she sends Thor into Sakaar, more popularly known as Planet Hulk.
If anything, the battle with the Hulk has been given away months before this revelation. It can be recalled that Hemsworth shared an Instagram post where he was landing blows against a punching bag with the caption "Gettin ready to fight the Hulk." So this is confirmation that there will be a huge fight between them.
"Thor: Ragnarok" makes its way to theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
