'Thor: Ragnarok' Rumor Spoilers: Anticipated Next Installment Could have Female Lead Villain
The release of "Thor: Ragnarok" is still far away but rumored details about the movie plot have been surfacing already. According to International Business Times, the movie is going to try a different direction by adding in a unique twist to its antagonist.
A report from Lainey Gossip has emerged saying that they have heard that Marvel is planning to introduce their first major female villain into their Marvel cinematic universe. It's not known on who the character will really be but the source speculated that it could be Amora the Enchantress, an Asgardian sorceress known for her extreme experience in the use of magic and seduction skills through supernatural means.
The source also pointed out Hela, Queen of the Dead, who is also known in the comics as the daughter of the Asgardian god of mischief Loki and giantess Angrbooa. However, she may not be regarded as the child of Loki if ever she will be the antagonist. As revealed in the comics, she was appointed by Odin, the father of Thor and former king, giving her dominion over the dead in the realms of Hel and Niffleheim.
If the rumors come out true, it is very likely that big names in Hollywood like Cate Blanchett may be tapped to do the role of the mystery villainess. Both speculated characters are capable of unleashing Ragnarok on Asgard.
Aside from a female lead villain, there are also reports that another female character is going to be part of the third installment. Latinos Health cited that Valkyrie will be gracing the movie and she could be the love interest of Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth. There's no certainty yet if it will bring up a love triangle with Thor's love interest form the first two movies, Jane Foster, played Natalie Portman. The Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo, is also expected to join the movie to fight side by side with Thor.
"Thor: Ragnarok" will film in Australia and is slated to open in theaters sometime in 2017.
