Three Stooges Premiere (VIDEO)
"The Three Stooges" were unearthed from the middle of the 20th century on Saturday for the Hollywood Premiere of "The Three Stooges" feature film.
Moe, Larry, and Curly became household names after "The Three Stooges" television show first premiered in 1925. First introduced as "Ted Healy and His Stooges," the show became known for it's slapstick comedy.
The show quickly became a classic, with reruns airing on television for over 50 years. Now, the classic show has now been transformed into a Hollywood feature film. The film will feature actors Sean Hayes as Larry, Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe, and Will Sasso as Curly. The movie's premiere was held Saturday in Hollywood, with a number of celebrity guests in attendance.
Brenda Song, Nicky Whelan and Christine Woods appeared as a trio. All three actresses will star in the upcoming NBC pilot, "Daddy's Girls." "Jersey Shore" star Jennifer Farley also appeared on the red carpet. The reality star- in addition to other "Jersey Shore" cast members- has a small cameo in the film.
"The Three Stooges" film was written by the Farrelly brothers, who also wrote successful comedies "Dumb and Dumber" and "There's Something About Mary." The plot of the film is based on the Three Stooges accidentally becoming involved in a murder while trying to rescue their old childhood orphanage.
Despite the hype, the trailer released for the film did not receive many positive reviews, although it did not appear to discourage viewers from wanting to see the film.
The three actors who will play the Stooges showed up in character to the premiere, riding up in a rickshaw. Before the action began, the actors also proceeded to run the red carpet making poking guests and stopping to make silly poses for the cameras. The actors did however, change out of costume to return to their regular attire for the actual screening.
"The Three Stooges" will premiere in theaters on April 13.
