Tiffani Thiessen Mother Serving as Nanny?

Tiffani Thiessen is a first-time mom enjoying every moment of motherhood. The actress recently spoke about her experience and why she and her husband have decided not to hire a nanny.

"My mom lives with us here in New York. I'm not saying that we will never have a nanny, I'm just saying right now, we prefer not to. We're fortunate enough to have my mother be that help for us," Thiessen told ABC News while at the Polo Classic.

Of course, many have argued that Thiessen is using her own mother as a nanny instead of actually paying for domestic help.

"Actually, her mother is the grandma/nanny," Debbie posted on Yahoo. "But as long as grandma [sees] nothing wrong with that."

"So she DOES have a nanny – she just doesn't pay her. The point is she is not adjusting to their lives as parents to care for their child, they have brought someone in to the home to do that for them so they can gad about town," added "Able to Think."

Thiessen and Brady Smith are both in the entertainment industry; she currently works on "White Collar." The couple has a 3-year-old daughter named Harper, whom Thiessen describes as a "Gemini" and having "a little bit of both" of her parents' personality.

"She loves the snails and the dirt and the mud, but then she wants to put my heels on and my hat and come with me! We pretended to do her hair and makeup this morning. She loves it. She's a ham; she's such a ham," Thiessen added.

Thiessen and Smith married in 2005 at a private estate in California. The marriage came just two years after Thiessen ended her year-and-a-half engagement to Richard Ruccolo. Thiessen and Smith have been happily together since 2005 and welcomed daughter Harper in 2010. They are also planning to have another little one sometime in the near future.

"There will definitely be a baby number two. Not quite at the moment. We're thinking maybe next year some time," she explained.
