'Spider' iOS and Android Game Sequel Release Date is Here: Tiger Style Launches Game (VIDEO)

Tiger Style has just released a sequel to its iOS and Android action video game "Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor."

Six years after Tiger Style debuted its critically acclaimed puzzle video game for iOS and Android, "Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor," the game studio released its sequel, "Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon."

Launched Thursday last week also for Linux, OS X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC on Steam, "The Secret of Bryce Manor" is set at the Blackbird Estate where players have an optional goal of finding out what befell the former occupants of the big house.

Taking control of a spider whose primary concern is to spin webs and consume insects to keep itself alive, players can explore Blackbird Estate to search for secrets and clues.

Some of the plot's elements have been based on actual historical society, and players bent on solving the mystery based on clues will have to read the accompanying text to make sense of the game's narrative.

Piecing together found clues will also help players unlock new areas they can explore, as they discover the details surrounding a secret society.

To open the portal leading to the next level in the game, the spider needs to eat a set amount of insects. These include ladybugs, moths, wasps, and crickets. Hornets, which cannot be trapped in a web, need to be attacked by jumping on them.

Players can earn high scores by spinning better webs and eating bugs as fast as possible, with the game avoiding monotony by presenting different kinds of room layouts and several types of insects.

"Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon" presents new time and weather effects depending on real-world weather and time of the day. The effects, such as a rainstorm, affect puzzles and insect placements accordingly.

Initially announced in November 2013, the sequel to the highly successful "Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor," was unveiled at the 2015 Games Developers Conference in San Francisco in March.
