Tiger Woods News: Agent Denies Rumors About Golfer's Alleged Appearance At Augusta National

Superstar golfer Tiger Woods was recently rumored to have been doing some "undercover prep work" at the Augusta National this past week, ahead of the 2016 Golf Masters Tournament this April.

However, his long-time agent Mark Steinberg immediately denied the said rumors, and was confirmed through a tweet by ESPN's Bob Harig.

"Not making a story where there isn't one, but agent Mark Steinberg did get back: 'Tiger was absolutely not in Augusta this past week,'" Harig's tweet reads.

In a report by the Inquisitr, Woods was present at the 2015 Augusta National, despite the expectations from fans that he would be no-showing the said event. The 40-year old Woods is coming off a recent back surgery for the bulging discs on his spine, and the procedure was meant to take the pressure off.

No definite date has been determined, as far as his comeback goes.

In another report by the Daily Mail, Woods' injury has been debilitating for his daily life, that he is not able to throw and play catch with his son.

He did, however, confirm that he is progressing and getting better, despite the admission that he still needs more work to do.

"I still have to get stronger, I still have to get more flexible," Woods said. "There's still a lot I have to do before I can go out and play."

The Golf Masters tournament was what brought Woods to global superstardom. In April 1997, he put on a record-breaking performance, winning the said tournament in only 12 strokes. He also bagged $486,000 in the process.

In June of that same year, he was already placed at the number one spot in the world rankings.

But as far as the 2016 Golf Masters goes, Steinberg says there has not been any definite update regarding his client's status for the said tournament.
