Tim Hudson's Wife Thankful to the Mets and Eric Young Despite Injury
The Atlanta Braves lost starting pitcher Tim Hudson to a gruesome ankle injury in the eighth inning of last night's game against the New York Mets, and yet his wife is thankful to the player who caused the injury.
Hudson's wife Kim, sent out two Tweets the day after the game, one thanking the Mets organization, and one to Eric Young, who caused the injury.
"Can't say enough great things about the @Mets organization and the way they handled Tim's injury: players, medical team, security #grateful," she Tweeted.

Then followed with, "@EYJr Thank you for playing the game the right way. You're obviously one of the good guys. We appreciate you," to the upset Young.
The Mets outfielder hit a line drive grounder that bounced off of Braves first basemen Freddie Freeman's chest. Hudson was running over to first base to cover the bag, a play that he has done thousands of times in his career. Except this time, Hudson's foot was a little too much on the base giving Young nowhere to put his foot as he lunged toward first.
The end result was Young coming down on the back of Hudson's leg, causing his ankle to crumble in a truly horrific-looking play at first. The pitcher immediately hit the ground writhing in pain.
Mets medical trainers, Braves players, and Young immediately ran over. The Mets player was beside himself, as it was easy to see he was distressed over the injury he unintentionally caused.
"I knew I didn't get any of the base. I got all of his foot,'' Young said according to Fox Sports. ''I pretty much knew it was broke right when I did it. That's why I ran back to him and tried to console him as much as I could and to apologize."
A cart was called over to carry the 38-year-old pitcher off the field, and Young shook hands with Hudson as a sign of good sportsmanship and well-being.
Up until that point the Braves were up six to nothing in the eighth inning. Hudson had been trying to preserve a shut out, but got into a little bit of trouble as the Mets had runners on second and third.
The end result of the game was an eight to two victory by Atlanta, but it was nothing to celebrate as they found out Hudson broke his ankle and would likely not pitch again this season.
Losing Hudson is a big blow for the first place Atlanta team who will no doubt need his solid pitching and post-season experience in their playoff run.
