'Timeless' Season 2: Lucy to Take Over Mother's Position in Rittenhouse?
Lucy (Abigail Spencer) will decide if she wants to take over her mother's role in Rittenhouse in the next season of "Timeless."
Co-series creator Eric Kripke previously shared that if NBC would renew the show for season 2, one of the storylines to look forward to is Lucy's future involvement with the mysterious organization. In last season's finale, it was revealed that her mother, Carol (Susanna Thompson), was actually part of the group. She managed to evade getting captured by the authorities and is still at large. According to Kripke, now that Lucy knows the truth, Carol will urge her daughter to become the family's savior and take back their legacy.
The series creator teased, according to TVLine: "Mom's plan for Lucy is to be the primary team member to take back the mothership in Rittenhouse's name and make specific and surgical changes to history to make the present far more advantageous for that organization. So she's their great white hope, and she's been, unbeknownst to her, meticulously conditioned to be that person. ... Do you follow this plan that's been set out for you? And if not, then what do you do, and how do you fight back against it?"

How Lucy will react to Carol's announcement, however, still remains a mystery. Everything is still a blur to her. She never had any inkling that her mother had been keeping a huge secret. When her sister died, she had no one but Carol. It will be interesting to see if Lucy will want to follow her mother's footsteps when Wyatt (Matt Lanter) may be planning something else for her.
Recent spoilers report that Wyatt is finally ready to take the plunge and start a romance with her. It looks like he will come to realize that it is time to let go of the past and start anew. When he learns that Lucy is meant to become part of the society he hates above all, will they still have a chance to be happy together?
NBC has not yet released any update on "Timeless" season 2.
