Tina Fey Takes Home SAG Award, Working on 'Mean Girls' Musical

Tina Fey is on a roll these days; the "30 Rock" producer and actress took home a Screen Actors Guild award and is now at work on a "Mean Girls" musical based off her hit movie.

"Thank you for letting me in this union, and I share this with everyone else in our cast," Fey said during her acceptance speech. "I want to say I share this with my sweet friend Amy Poehler whom I've known for so long, I've stolen so many of your moves. Amy, I've known you since you were pregnant with Lena Dunham," Fey joked.

"30 Rock" has been on the air for seven seasons and will air its final episode on Thursday, Jan. 31. It's fitting, then, that Fey take home the SAG award. Co-star and co-producer Alec Baldwin also took home an SAG for his portrayal of GE lead man Jack Donaghy.

"Oh my God, this is ridiculous. I have to say thank you to Tina and all our great, great writers," Baldwin said. "It was the greatest experience I've ever had. I want to thank my wife Hilaria, who is here with me, who is my real prize in this world."

Now that "30 Rock" has finished shooting, Fey has a new project on her hands. She was questioned about that project by Giuliana Rancic just moments before entering the SAG awards.

"Before I let you go, 'Mean Girls: The Musical'? Is that real?" Rancic asked.

"I would love to. I'm trying to develop it actually with my husband who does all the music for '30 Rock.' I think Paramount's on board. Yeah," Fey responded.

"Mean Girls" has become a cult classic since its debut in 2004. Fey wrote and appeared in the film, which depicted the life of high school teenagers and the various cliques they join. The movie featured Fey's friends from "Saturday Night Live," including, of course, best friend Amy Poehler.

The final episode of "30 Rock" airs Thursday, Jan. 31, on NBC.
