'Titans' TV Series Villain Revealed: Teen Titans to Face the Acolyte in Upcoming Show
This year's live-action adaptation "Titans" is shaping up to be a long-running show, as the new villain for the series has been revealed. Teen Titans will first go up against minor DC Comics villain called the Acolyte.
More details are coming in for "Titans," the new DC Comics live action TV series. Casting updates have now confirmed Teagan Croft as Raven, Brendan Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Alan Ritchson as the Hawk and Minka Kelly as Dove, which just leaves Beast Boy as the only character whose actor is left unannounced.
Production is already underway, in time for the series debut in early 2018, according to That Hashtag Show. The newly-formed Teen Titans will be facing a somewhat unknown villain that has something to do with Raven's backstory as well.

As stated in a recent casting call, the first bad guy the team will come up against is someone called the Acolyte. According to the role's description, the Acolyte is "Male. African-American 40-50. Confident. The villain of our story. He is after Rachel and her powers, trying to kidnap her after he murders her mother," referring to Raven.
A casting role spot is also open for Raven's adoptive mother, Angela, who's described as "Female 40-50. Rachel's (adoptive) mom. She gets killed in an attempt to kidnap Rachel," so it will be a brief role from the onset.
The Acolyte, fortunately for the just-formed Titans, is a relatively lightweight villain that first got a short appearance in the Young Justice comics. Apparently, he does not even have supernatural powers, according to Den of Geek.
Fans of the Cartoon Network show might not be familiar with Hawk and Dove, who both joins the Titans roster. The pair also has a romantic link, as well, and although they are not official, regular Titans, they will show up from time to time.
