'Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands' Release Date, News: Title Has the Biggest Beta for Ubisoft

Ubisoft Entertainment has been known to create great titles that entice a large crowd of players, and such is true for the upcoming open-world shooter platform, "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands." As a matter of fact, it has captured the imagination of millions that it has set a new record for the publisher.

In a Ubisoft blog, senior communications manager Giancarlo Varanini has shared that both close and open betas for the title have amassed a total of 6.8 million participants, a record high for the company. Varanini also added that over two billion minutes were played while more than 60 percent of the gamers engaged in cooperative play, revealing the multiplayer mode remains to be popular.

That's not the only statistics Varanini shared. Set in the Bolivian wilderness, 1.2 billion cartel members were eliminated, 44 million teammates were saved, there were 12.5 attempted base jumps, 2.8 million hours were spent in night vision, and 1.3 million hours were spent in using drones. This shows gamers were very much immersed in the gameplay and are enjoying every single detail.

With these statistics, it is clear to see that there's a high chance the game is going to be received with a huge crowd when it finally gets released in the market. Moreover, this large participation gives insight to the developers, allowing adjustments or patches if needed, making the game even better.

The beta has been a great way to increase awareness for the title, but it appears Ubisoft has other plans to ensure everyone is on board the hype train. Communications specialist Chris Watters has shared that a new novel titled "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands: Dark Waters" will aim to delve on the ghosts' backstories. This allows the players to relate to them more and have a deeper understanding of the game's main story.

"Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands" arrives on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms on March 7, 2017.
