'Tom Clancy's The Division' To Provide 4 New Gear Sets For Free

In the run-up to the game's March 8 launch, the open world, third-person shooter "Tom Clancy's The Division" is giving away four new gear sets for players to use in the game, and the good news is that these new gear sets will come for free. According to a report in VG24/7, the new gear sets were released at the same time that the live-action mini-series was launched.

In order to create additional hype for the game, Ubisoft made a four-part mini-series titled "Agent Origins" which is supposed to provide the backstory for the circumstances that will lead to the post-virus setting of Manhattan and the role of four agents in making sure that society will be saved from itself during times of chaos and anarchy. The four agents who are called to active duty include a firefighter, a paramedic, a hunter and a policeman.

According to another report in Tech Times, players do not need to watch the mini-series in order to get the free DLC. The free gear sets, however, are only limited to players based in the U.S. The unlock code that players need to remember is "AGENTORIGINS," which needs to be inputted at a specific link provided. Redemption is said to start when the game is released on March 8.

Some players, however, have shared on the game's Reddit page that they have been able to redeem their codes already.

Each of the gear sets includes a backpack, a weapon (usually a long gun) and appropriate wear depending on the role of the responder. According to Ubisoft, the inclusion of a hunter among the first responders is justified because of their experience in handling the dangers in the wilderness. Skills of the responder selected will also come with each gear set.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" will be entering its closed beta phase on January 28. The game will be released for PC and current generation consoles on March 8.
