'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5' Game Update: Graphics Change Explained, Full Soundtrack Released
It's just a few weeks until the release of "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" and fans are already excited to know more about the game. Ever since the release of new screenshots of the game showing a new visual style, fans have been worried about the last minute overhaul.
According to International Business Times, the skateboarding video game went through a massive graphics overhaul with the visual art now sporting a cel-shaded look and throwing away the semi-realistic approach of the graphics seen in the previous versions of the game.
There were speculations that the change had to happen because plenty of fans complained that the game looked too much like an old and dated "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" game. Robomodo CEO Josh Tsui revealed that the change was more of a technical issue that they had to deal with.
"We've always been confident in the look we were going for, but it took a while to ensure we could maintain the framerate with this style," Tsui old GameSpot when asked why the look changed with the game just weeks away from release.
He explained that the game needs to run at 60fps at 1080p, even with 20 people skating online in the same session. They are proud to say that they have achieved what they worked for so now fans are seeing a better-looking game.
He also added that it wasn't the fans who were responsible for the new look.
"We pay attention to everything the fans are saying, but that isn't what drove the visual upgrade," the CEO said. Tsui also explained that the current art style of the game is not cel-shaded but just more detailed and vibrant.
Menwhile, the full soundtrack for the game has already been revealed by Digital Spy. Fans will jam along to punk pop and skate rock songs like "Stars and Stripes" by Anti-Flag, "Southsiders" by Atmosphere, "Hipster Shakes" by Black Pistol Fire and many more.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is due out for Xbox One and PS4 on Sept. 29, with Xbox 360 and PS3 versions coming on Nov. 10.
