Top 2016 Games: Exclusives and Titles Gamers Can't Wait to Play Next Year
Video game players constitute nearly half of the population of the United States, with 42 percent of Americans playing at least three hours of video games each week, according to the Entertainment Software Association, the United States' video game industry trade association. The number of gamers worldwide is also expected to grow to 2.15 billion, according to research firm Newzoo.
This means more people will be clamoring to have more video games released next year. With the video game industry expected to reap more than $99.2 billion revenue worldwide in 2016, developers and publishers have duly lined up their best sellers for the coming year.
From among the many anticipated titles that are expected to come next year, these games emerged at the top of gamers' lists.
"The Last Guardian"
Many gamers are hoping there won't be anymore delays to "The Last Guardian," which is scheduled to be available for Sony's PlayStation 4 in 2016. The game features a little boy and a curious character that is part eagle, part dog, and part cat.
"Crackdown 3"
Coming to the Xbox One in 2016, "Crackdown 3" is set in a crime-besieged city and players will play an agent who must enforce the law. The game is handled by Dave Jones and is said to feature Microsoft's Azure cloud technology, which translates to players seeing even greater destruction in the game.
"Horizon Zero Dawn"
"Horizon Zero Dawn" is an original role-playing game from Guerilla Games for the PS4. In the game, players control a female hunter who will face mecha-dinosaurs, which have overrun the Earth, using primitive but destructive weapons.
