Descendants of the Sun actor tops Lee Min Ho but was not chosen to represent South Korea in 2016 KCON.
Korean actor Song Joong – Ki is at the top of the list of the best male Korean celebrities according to "Daily View." The website held a poll to find out who their Taiwanese voters liked when it came to the hottest Korean stars early this year. The site found out that most of their viewers favored the Descendants of the Sun actor than other male celebrities.

Song Joong-Ki topped the list while "The Heirs" actor and product endorser Lee Min Ho got second place. Song Joong-Ki had 9,638 points while Lee Min Ho only had 1,767. This meant that Song Joong- Ki was indeed more popular and more favored by viewers from abroad. Other male Korean actors on the list were Kim Soo Hyun from "My Love from the Stars" and So Ji-sub from "Sorry, I Love You." Each had very popular television drama series that were not just hits in Korean but also abroad. And completing the list of the most popular Korean male stars were Park Bo Gum, Park Hae Jin, Jo In Sung, Lee Jong Suk and T.O.P.

The results of the poll were from real-time analysis of data gathered from the web from January 24 to July 24. This was in fact the period when Song Joong- Ki's Descendants of the Sun aired over South Korea via KBS 2TV. The television drama had 16 episodes in total and ran from the first weeks of 2016 till July.
Lee Min Ho vs. Song Joong- Ki
Fans can't help but create a rivalry between Lee Min Ho and Song Joong-Ki but in real life, they are simply good friends. Lee Min Ho once said in an interview that he would want to work with Song Joong-Ki and that there are not really rivals at all.
There are also rumors that Song Joong-Ki's Descendants of the Sun leading lady Song Hye Ko is dating Lee Min Ho but the two denied rumors that they are seeing each other. Lee Min Ho however said that he likes the actress in an interview made after he broke up with long-time girlfriends Bae Suzy.

It was Lee Min Ho who was chosen to represent South Korea at the 2016 KCON which will be held in California from July 29 to 31. The event, which will be at the Staples Center as well as the Los Angeles Convention Center, will also be attended by 12 other members: Block B, SHINee, Turbo, Davinchi, GFRIEND, DEAN, TWICE, MONSTA X, BTS, I.O.I., Amber, TaeTiSeo and Eric Nam.
Although others think that Song Joong-Ki was more popular, he was not chosen to be part of the delegation. The "Boys Over Flowers" star has more than 23 awards to his name including a best actor award compared to Song Joong-Ki who has not won any major awards so far.
